Flight
Information
There
are a few airlines that fly into Erie,
Pennsylvania. Continental, Delta/Comair, Northwest, and US Airways
all fly in there. From experience, we can tell you that the airport
is really tiny, they only have 8 or 9 gates. You cannot check-in
until 1 hour before departure and your bag may not make it if it's
checked in after 30 minutes before departure. We also do not recommend
the restaurant there.
There
are no direct flights from St. Louis to Erie. The average cost is
$250 - $300. You will need to book early in order to get cheaper
prices. Airlines usually fly to either Detroit or Cincinnati and
you can catch a connecting flight to Erie. An alterative is to fly
into Cleveland, Ohio and drive to Erie. Southwest Airlines often
offers ticket sales to Cleveland from $39 - $49 one way. Cleveland
is about a 2 hour drive from Erie. On a direct flight from St. Louis
to Cleveland, it is a 1 hour and 25 minute flight from gate to gate.
Some
other alternative locations to fly into are Buffalo or Pittsburgh.
Buffalo is also about a 2 hour drive from Erie. Pittsburgh is about
a 3 hour drive. We usually do not find any good sales flying into
either of those locations.
We
daily check for airline sales. If you would like us to contact you
when tickets go on sale, please let
us know. You will need to tell us dates you want to fly and
what times are good for you.
Car
Rental
There
are 5 major car rental companies that you can rent a car from at
the airport. Enterprise is also available but they are not located
at the airport. You can find their contact information on Erie
Airport's website.
